On Friday 1st June, Otumoetai Intermediate held its very first Grandparent's Day!
Students
were encouraged to invite their grandparents along to school to spend
the morning in their classroom and visit the specialist classes in
action.
Room 25 was lucky enough to have 17 grandparents attend.
To
begin the day, we warmed up their math skills by playing a couple of
rounds of multiplication bingo (with help from their grandchild if
needed), followed by a BP Challenge.
The
challenge was to create an outfit completely out of newspaper and
sellotape - top, bottoms, shoes, hat or head piece and any accessories
scored extra points.
The grandparents were very creative and some even became the models!
We
had some lovely outfits that walked our catwalk, such as the suit made
my Thomas Conder, Keenan and his grandparents. Jodie even dressed her
Grandmother up as the Queen!!
An excellent effort was made by all. Casey's Gran even held a gorgeous bouquet of flowers.
During interval, the Grandparents were able to have a cup of tea and treat themselves to some home baking in the hall.
In
second block, Grandparents were given the royal tour of Otumoetai
Intermediate, shown around the specialist classes and watched the Kapa
Haka Roopu perform.
I was not at grandparents but it would of been fun.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Grandparents day :) I liked the BP Challenge the most. My Nanna loved it! Ecspecially the Kapahaka. I think my Nanna's cool because shes funny and crazy.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed grandparents day because it was much better than doing boring work. My favorite part of the day was when my grandma helped me improve my canvas in visual art academy. My grandma loved grandparents day, so that's good. My granny nanny is special because shes a lot of fun and takes us EVERYWHERE...yeah.

Grandperants day was cool my nana enjoyed the bp challange but she got lost like 5 or 6 times o well. My nanas cool beecause she lives on a big farm with sheep and cows. She also got swag
