Otumoetai Intermediate's Gala Day

On Wednesday the 23rd March, Otumoetai Intermediate held a gala day to raise money for the people affected by the Canterbury earthquake. Our class had very little time to think of a stall idea, but in the end, we went with a 'Simpsons' theme and made a Kwik-e-mart, selling donuts (50c each or 3 for $1) and 'squishees' ($1). Within an hour,we had completely sold out of eveything!
There were lots of creative ideas for stalls, such as cafe's, sock lottery, dunking machine, mini putt, teacher races, sponge throwing, laser tag, coin toss, car wash, slip n' slide and many more! The teacher races were a huge hit, with Mrs Kerr coming 1st in the first race, and Mr King coming 1st in the second race. Everyone also enjoyed the dunking machine, and it was a great way to cool off in the sunny weather. The prices of food and activities were 50c and up. The gala went from 11am-1.30pm in the afternoon.

We raised $6400 dollars over the whole day, with 100% going to Christchurch!
